Portfolio: Other

This is the Other Section of my portfolio, aka things that don't match with both the Cats and Humans Section! Warning for general spookiness in a few of the pieces!

Appie (March 1st, 2026 - Sometime in March, 2026)

• This was based off of an art challenge for a cartoon that was out in the 2010's! I did deviate from the original instructions a little, but I still like how it turned out!
• It's meant to be an appitite, a gemstone that can be mistaken for peridots, both with its appearance and how close they can form from each other! That became the main idea for this guy!
• There isn't much I don't like about this one... other than the difficulty I had with the arms and legs, in terms of where the robotic limb parts would realistically go.

Machine (December 24th, 2025 - April 9th, 2026)

• I remember debating on this one for a while and kinda putting it off. It'd been a sketch for a while, until I decided to finally finish it in April.
• The sketch had rounder parts to it, but then I changed them to be more sharp and pointy. I was attempting to use shape language to make it look a little more aggressive!
• I used an airbrush for a light hitting the metal on the robot. I'm not sure if I like it or not...

Dog Scorpion L and D (December 8th, 2025 - Sometime in December, 2026)

• Two of the same version! The darker one's meant to be creepy, but it might be a little too dark.
• I love how silly I managed to make the thing look in the lighter one! That was the intention, but it worked a lot more than I thought it would!
• In horror (specifically analog horror, which is horror that's typically shown in tapes), there's a lot of creatures that have the eyes I put in the darker version. The whites almost completely gone, the pupils blown up ten times the size it should be. I added it in because I thought it'd be a nice touch, and while it feels a little more goofy than scary, I do still like it quite a bit!
• The creature in this piece (and the next one) is something I made up myself! It's like a chimera, except this one's supposed to be more creepy! It's a mix between a regular human, a german shepherd, and an arizona bark scorpion!

Wolf Mountain Lion (February 7th, 2026 - February 19th, 2026)

• Like the previous piece, this one is a mix between a human and two animals, but this time it's a canadian timber wolf and a mountain lion!
• I love the end result! I remember having a bit of trouble with the fact that the guy had its head tilted, but I pulled though!
• I only have two nitpicks on this one. The eyes, while I do like them, look kinda strange. Like only a little bit of the eyes are glowing instead of the whole thing. And the fingers are supposed to turn into wolf paws/claws, which considering the coloring is just white... it doesn't work as well as I was hoping.
• Side note: I simplified the mountain lion ears, in terms of the coloring.

Smoky (March 28th, 2026 - April 13th, 2026)

• One of the few characters I've drawn with simple designs. Usually the characters I create have rather difficult patterns, clothes, or a lot of colors. This one, however, isn't!
• Fun fact, the sketching and line art layers basically look one to one! Which is good, because I really loved how it looked when I was still sketching!
• I forgot to shade anything it except for the hair...
• My least favorite part about this piece is a small detail- the supposed smoke bomb. It looks like a smoking cactus, not a smoke bomb!
