Portfolio: Humans
This is the Humans Section of my portfolio! No warnings for this one!
Aster (February 13th, 2025 - February 16th, 2025)
- This was a redraw of a character's reference sheet. The first one wasn't bad, but I wanted to see if I could make it better. And boy, did I!
- The hair is absolutely my favorite part! It looks wild yet organized, with the colors of a soft flame, which really works for the character!
- Only thing is that I wish I did something else other than a 'stare into your soul' expression.
Hound (January 13th, 2026 - Sometime in January, 2026)
- Oh boy, I don't like this one that much. I tried to make a character from the Cats Section into a human... but it looks off. Probably because this is the first time making a human character with a cane and only one leg.
- The hair's nice, especially with that little swirl.
- That arm with the cane was a nightmare to draw! It still looks too long!
- I can say I did try it, though! It's not the worst thing I've drawn as of somewhat recently, and hey, maybe I'll give this another shot sooner or later!
Dark World (November 13th, 2025 - Sometime in November, 2025)
- A version of a character I made in inspiration from a game! In the game, there's the light world and the dark world, and anyone originally from the light world get a cool new outfit!
- I inverted the colors for the hair, which is why the light blue shading is there and looks so strange.
- The masks and the outfit as a whole I think are my favorite part of this piece! The coat was a little tricky to design, and the same with the masks, but I'd say it worked out well in the end!
- The faint strings wrapping around the character's legs and neck was an idea I thought of! It looks fine, but I wish they were a little easier to spot, maybe? Like raising the transparency or something along those lines?
Blue (March 7th, 2025 - March 14th, 2026)
- Simple, cute, and small!
- I don't remember the original inspiration that made me draw this fella.
- The pose and ESPECIALLY the design is simple! I blurred the light to dark blue colors to make them blend and shift together better.
- The glasses are my favorite part! I believe what I did was take the blue color, erase a third of it, and then blur it together to mix it before lowering the transparency!
- No background! To be fair, I kinda like it without one, but
Spider's Web (October 24th, 2025 - October 27th, 2025)
- THIS ONE. This one might be my favorite. I made the design in a picrew (essentially a dress-up game that artists make and other people can play and make their own characters) and then decided to draw it!
- The lighting! I shaded the character's skin so it looked like a slight shadow was being casted on their left! I also made a white half circle, blurred it and lowered the transparency. Then I made another white circle, blurred it, and lowered the transparency further, and then I combined them into one layer! Finally, I made a black screen that I, once again, made a bit transparent!
- I was hoping to achieve a sort of anime-esqe look to the character, and I would say that I passed that very well! Especially the eyes, even though they aren't absolutely massive like how they are in some animes.
- The background's meant to be a starry cafe, and I love the hanging star decorations I made!
- For the dyed hair, I put some blue near the tips of the hair, then blurred the ends to blend them in!
Harvest (December 12th, 2025 - Sometime in December, 2025)
- This one has six different version, including this one! The difference in them is the character gets more and more unhinged in each one. They... look a little embarrassing, I'll admit. Crazy faces might not be forte, but I'll still attempt them!
- Monochrome! Monochrome's very difficult, especially with so many grays, but I made it work!
- My favorite part, if not the monochromatic scheme, is the somewhat simple detail of them having a whip made of paper! It's a little tricky to see, but it is there! It feels very clever because the story that inspired me to create them has a magic system of rock paper scissors! And they're paper!
Silver (March 18th, 2025 - March 20th, 2025)
- I can't remember for the life of me who this character was or what it was supposed to be for.
- I don't draw dresses all that much, but this one looks pretty neat! I think I remember having trouble with making it look flowy and fancy.
- I wish I did more with this one, more specifically making a background.
- A trick I do a lot with hair is having a base color and a darker color and/or a lighter color too. I outline the lineart on the inside, then blur the color to have it blend in with a base color.
